A frustrated and confliced teenager arrives at a new highschool to discover an underground fightclub and meet a classmate who begins to coerce him into fighting.

Jean Roqua: [Jake is considering going to the Beatdown] Do this and you can never come back in my gym again. I let you get away with it once, not twice.
Jake Tyler: Wait! You think this is what I want? To never train with you again? Just to give some asshole the show that he's looking for?
Jean Roqua: Then stop! Let it go.
Jake Tyler: The night my dad died, I just let him drive. I didn't even try to stop him. Doing nothing has consequences too.
Jean Roqua: You cannot live in the past, my friend.
Jake Tyler: Really? If you could go back, and stop the guy who shot your brother.
Jean Roqua: Don't push me.
Jake Tyler: I know you would've fought that guy. I know...
Jean Roqua: You know nothing! Seven years. Seven years, I've not seen my family. My friends. And every day, like the day before, I wake up, wash my face, look myself in the mirror, disgusted.
Jake Tyler: Why not go back?
Jean Roqua: And face my father? The last time he spoke to me, he said both of his sons died that night.
Jake Tyler: Well if that's what you believe, then he was right. You gave up. Sometimes fighting the fight means that you have to do the one thing you don't want to do. You have to fight for his forgiveness. You can't just hide here forever. At least I can't. I'm gonna stop this guy. Win, lose, it makes no difference. It ends tonight. This is my fight. Everyone's got one.
Jean Roqua: Jake, no matter what happens, control the outcome. It's on you.
Jake Tyler: Always has been.
Ryan McCarthy: If you gonna be the best, you have to take out the best
Jean Roqua: Never give up, never back down!
Jean Roqua: It's on you, always has been, always will be.
Baja Miller: You're looking shit...
Jake Tyler: Don't insult shit.
Jake Tyler: [stopping in front of sports car] Is this your car?
Max Cooperman: No.
[he kisses roof]
Max Cooperman: It's my baby
Charlie Tyler: Wanna wrestle...?
Baja Miller: I just came to apologize.
Charlie Tyler: Whatever she did... accept!
Jake Tyler: [suppressing a smile] Go away!
Jake Tyler: I lied the first class. I had every intention to fight outside the gym.
Jean Roqua: Is this your apology?
Jake Tyler: I lied because I wanted to pound on the guy who was pounding on me. This guy, he's got the perfect life, the perfect car, the perfect girlfriend. You know, I lied because I'm pissed off. Because I'm angry all the time. I just, I just had to say no and I blew it. That's all I needed to do and I couldn't. My dad, he was, he was completely wasted. He was tanked. He wanted to drive and I let him. He uh, went off the road. Hit a tree. I made it, he didn't. I've just been letting my mom down and my brother down, getting in fights. I don't want to be angry anymore. The only time I'm not is when I'm in the gym, and I'm training with you.
Jean Roqua: Be at the gym at 7:00.
Jake Tyler: Thank you.
Jean Roqua: You won't be thanking me tomorrow.
Baja Miller: Walking away and giving up are not the same thing.
Jake Tyler: Good, 'cause I'm not doing either one.
Max Cooperman: [seeing girls kissing in hot tub, grabs camera and starts filming] Number 1 clip on YouTube... Ooh, I can see my hitcounter rising!
Hot Tub Chick #1: Max! I'm gonna shove that camera up your ass!
Jake Tyler: Go away, Charlie.
Max Cooperman: It's, um, Max Cooperman... And Baja Miller?
[the door flies open]
Max Cooperman: Haha! That was too easy.
Vocabulary Guy: So what do you guys want to write about?
Baja Miller: How about pride?
Jake Tyler: Betrayal.
Baja Miller: Exoneration.
Jake Tyler: Treachery
Baja Miller: Sequaciousness.
Jake Tyler: That's bullshit. That's not even a word.
Vocabulary Guy: Yeah, it is. It's go with the flow, and it's used quite well, I might add.
Baja Miller: Why do you have to be such a jerk?
Jake Tyler: Yeah, this is my fault.
Baja Miller: It wasn't, but your making it that way.
[Jake gets up and leaves]
Vocabulary Guy: Unrequited?
Baja Miller: I'm Baja.
Jake Tyler: Like Mexico?
Baja Miller: Like my parents smoke too much weed.
Baja Miller: The only time you're happy is when you're hurting people.
Ryan McCarthy: Oh?
[she turns to walk off and he grabs her arm - hard]
Baja Miller: Ryan, ow. Ryan, stop you're hurting me.
Ryan McCarthy: [stone-faced] And tell me, do I look happy?
Ryan McCarthy: [after taking a cheap shot from Jake] Ah, Iowa. That was a cheap one. But you are good. You have a good center of gravity. But that old school boxing shit is just... I don't know. It doesn't fly around here. You gotta mix it up.
[delivers a sharp kick to Jake's leg]
Ryan McCarthy: Stings, right? I bet it does.
[delivers another kick to Jake's leg]
Ryan McCarthy: Your leg's all jacked up... Can't put any weight on it maybe...
[delivers a third kick to Jake's leg]
Ryan McCarthy: And now for the bad news. It's gotta end with you looking like a bitch in front of everybody.
Max's Girl: [turns around] How well do you know Jake?
Max Cooperman: Ah, we're tight.
Max's Girl: Really...
Max Cooperman: Yeah, It's more of a professional relationship, though... I'm his trainer.
Running Back: The sause?
[pause]
Running Back: That shit will kill ya.
Jake Tyler: You know what they say about the internet.
Jake Tyler: Isn't this a little stalkerish?
Max Cooperman: Yes.
Jake Tyler: I'm gonna stop this guy, win, lose... it makes no difference, it ends tonight. This is my fight. Everyone's got one...
Ryan McCarthy: Look, we all saw the footage, dude - and you can bang.
Ryan McCarthy: Enjoy the floor.
Jake Tyler: [Jake's mom sees him getting ready to leave for the Beatdown] I don't want to lie about this.
Margot Tyler: I'm not going to ask you to.
Max Cooperman: [walks up to a couple of girls] So you guys play X-Box, a lot?
Jake Tyler: Hey, Ryan! You ain't got shit!
[Jake swings wildly but gets knocked out by Ryan]
