The spectre of a dead child rapist haunts the children of the parents who murdered him, stalking and killing them in their dreams.

Children: One, two, Freddy's coming for you. / Three, four, better lock your door. / Five, six, grab your crucifix. / Seven, eight, gonna stay up late. / Nine, ten, never sleep again.
Nancy Thompson: [iconic line] Whatever you do... don't fall asleep.
Fred Krueger: I'm your boyfriend now, Nancy.
Nancy Thompson: It's only a dream!
Fred Krueger: Come to Freddy.
Nancy Thompson: GOD DAMN YOU!
Nancy Thompson: MOTHER! What's with the bars?
Marge Thompson: Security.
Nancy Thompson: Security? SECURITY FROM WHAT?
Marge Thompson: Not from what: From whom. Come down to the cellar. You wanna know who Fred Krueger was? He was a filthy child murderer, who killed at least 20 kids in the neighborhood... kids we all knew.
Nancy Thompson: Oh, Mom.
Marge Thompson: It drove us crazy when we didn't know who it was, but it was even worse after they caught him.
Nancy Thompson: Did they put him away?
Marge Thompson: Well all the lawyers got fat and the Judge got famous, but someone forgot to sign the search warrant in the right place and Krueger was free just like that.
Nancy Thompson: What did you do?
Marge Thompson: A bunch of us parents got together and tracked him down. We found him in old abandoned boiler room, where he used to take his kids.
Nancy Thompson: Go on.
Marge Thompson: We took gasoline and poured it all around the place and made a trail of it out the door. We lit the whole thing up and watched it burn. He's dead now. He's dead because Mommy killed him. I even took his knives.
Nancy Thompson: Help! I've got him! Hey, Daddy! I've got him trapped! Help! Where are you?
Sgt. Parker: Everything's gonna be all right! Everything's under control!
Nancy Thompson: Get my dad, you asshole!
[Tina is in the alley behind her home when a trashcan lid suddenly comes rolling out and crashes at her feet. She turns around]
Fred Krueger: Tina...
[laughs mockingly as he appears, extending his arms across the entire width of the alley]
Tina Gray: Please, God!
Fred Krueger: [reveals his glove] This... is God!
[laughs as he takes off after her]
Tina Gray: [screams and runs toward the house]
Glen Lantz: Miss Nude America is going to be on tonight.
Mrs. Lantz: How can you hear what she's going to say?
Glen Lantz: Who cares what she says?
Freddy Krueger: [Nancy falls into a pool of blood] How's this for a wet dream?
Freddy Krueger: Why are you screaming?
[pause]
Freddy Krueger: I haven't even cut you yet!
[laugh]
Freddy Krueger: [to Jesse] Did you know that after the heart stops beating, the brain can function for well over seven minutes?
[pause]
Freddy Krueger: We got six more minutes to play.
Nancy Thompson: [after Glen failed to wake her up as she fell asleep and dreamed about Freddy] GLEN, YOU BASTARD!
Glen Lantz: What did I do?
Nancy Thompson: I just asked you to do one thing, to stay awake and watch me and to wake me up if it looked like I was having a bad dream, and what did you do, YOU SHIT?
[Nancy then slaps him on the knee]
Nancy Thompson: You fell asleep!
Jesse Braun: [as he finds himself asleep and dreaming] Oh, God!
Freddy Krueger: No. Just me...
Freddy Krueger: Your mouth says no...
[moving his claw up Nancy's leg]
Freddy Krueger: But your body says yes...
Quentin Smith: Look, we're running out of time.
Nancy Holbrook: What do you mean?
Quentin Smith: [Reading a book] But then it says at the 70-hour mark the insomniac will begin to experience micro-naps. "His brain will begin to shut down its functions for several seconds in an attempt to recharge itself." Which basically means you're dreaming, but you don't know it. Like, even if you're awake. And then it says that after that, your brain will shut down, inducing a coma. Which is permanent sleep.
Hallguard: Where's your pass?
Nancy Thompson: Screw your pass.
Quentin Smith: [Storms into his father's office] You killed Kruger.
Alan Smith: Where'd you here that name?
Quentin Smith: You chased him, you cornered him and you burned him to death. You hunted him!
Alan Smith: We were not hunting. We were protecting you.
Quentin Smith: [shouting] From what?
Alan Smith: From *him*. From what he did to you. From what you kids said he did to you.
Quentin Smith: [shouting] We were five! We would've said anything! Why didn't you do to the police?
Alan Smith: You were so young.
Quentin Smith: [Whipspers to himself] No. God! And the things we said he did. The cave. Did you ever find it?
Alan Smith: No.
Quentin Smith: How do you know that he was guilty?
[His father looks uncertain]
Nancy Holbrook: Oh, my god!
Quentin Smith: You killed an innocent man!
Alan Smith: Mm-mm. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about that night, Quentin.
Quentin Smith: Good, you deserve at least that.
Alan Smith: Quentin, when you grow up and you have kids, I hope you never know the feeling of utterly failing to protect them.
Alan Smith: You open this door, Krueger!
Freddy Krueger: What do you think I did? I didn't do anything!
John, Kid in Classroom: Oh, God, I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams.
Freddy Krueger: [Kris finds her dog mangled] I was just petting him.
[laughs]
Marge Thompson: Nancy?
Nancy Thompson: What, Mother?
Marge Thompson: Don't fall asleep in there. You could drown, you know.
Nancy Thompson: Oh, for Pete's sakes.
Marge Thompson: It happens all the time. I've heated up some warm milk for you, honey.
Nancy Thompson: Warm milk? Gross.
Glen Lantz: I'm going to punch out your ugly lights, whoever you are!
Voice on Glen's television set: It is now twelve, midnight and this is station KRGR, leaving the air.
Freddy Krueger: [to Quentin, who he's beat against a pipe, cut down his chest, thrown against a mirror, and punched in the face] Now why don't you just fucking *die*?
Nancy Thompson: I grab the guy in my dream. You see me struggling so you wake me up. We both come out, you whack the fucker and we got him.
Glen Lantz: Are you crazy, hit him with what?
Nancy Thompson: You're the jock. You have a baseball bat or something.
Nancy Thompson: Oh, God. I look 20 years old!
[Freddy wears Tina mask]
Tina Gray: Nancy, help me, please. Save me from...
[Removes mask]
Fred Krueger: Freddy!
Quentin Smith: We were wrong. He's not after us because we lied. He's after us because we told the truth.
Nancy Holbrook: He brought us here so we could remember what he did to us.
Rod Lane: [after tackling Glen on the lawn] It's Rod Lane, bringing Lantz down, just three yards from the goal line! What a brilliant tackle and the crowd goes wild!
Tina Gray: What the hell are you doing here?
Rod Lane: Came to make up. No big deal. Your mom home?
Tina Gray: Of course.
[looking at the tool Rod used to make the screeching noise]
Tina Gray: Oh, what's that?
Rod Lane: Intense, huh?
[slowly reveals it and imitates a screeching noise]
Rod Lane: So what's going on here? An orgy or somethin'?
Glen Lantz: Maybe your funeral, dickhead.
[Rod pulls out a switchblade and holds it up to Glen's face]
Nancy: [Putting Rod's flashing switchblade back in and giving it to him] It's just a sleepover, Rod. Tina and me. Glen was JUST leaving.
Rod Lane: [to Tina, with a smile] Did you see his face?
Glen Lantz: [Mimicking Rod with a face] Did you see his face?
Dean Russell: I *can* sleep... I just don't want to.
Freddy Krueger: Wake up! You're bleeding.
Freddy Krueger: [Nancy is screaming] Oh, that's music to my ears.
Nancy Holbrook: [struggling] I wanna wake up!
Freddy Krueger: You can't wake up. I had to keep you awake long enough so when you finally slept, you'd never wake up again. We're gonna be in here a long time. Did you really think your boyfriend could wake you up?
[puts claw on chest]
Freddy Krueger: I'm your boyfriend now.
Glen Lantz: Oh, man. Midnight. Baseball bats and boogeymen. Beautiful.
Freddy Krueger: Little Nancy. Now that you caught me, what game do you wanna play next?
Nancy Holbrook: Fuck you!
Freddy Krueger: Ooh, sounds like fun. It's a little fast for me. How about we hang, first?
[Freddy grabs Nancy and makes her turn to face the bodies of her friends]
Nancy Holbrook: No. It's not real.
Freddy Krueger: It's real. I'm real.
Nancy Thompson: [she notices Glen standing outside her window with mud-caked soles] Sometimes I wish you didn't live right across the street.
Glen Lantz: [holds one of his muddy feet up to her] Will you shut up and let me in? Did you ever stand on a rose trellis in your bare feet?
Freddy Krueger: You really shouldn't fall asleep in class.
[scratches chalkboard]
Freddy Krueger: Hi, Kris.
Kris Fowles: [backing away from Krueger] Who are you?
Freddy Krueger: [walking towards Fowles] You look just as beautiful as ever.
[raises his glove]
Freddy Krueger: You have nothing to worry about. This wont hurt one... little... bit.
Nancy Thompson: [talking on the phone with her dad] Hi, daddy. I know what happened.
[appealing to Glen]
Lt. Donald Thompson: I haven't been upstairs yet.
Nancy Thompson: Yeah, but you know he's dead, right?
Lt. Donald Thompson: Yeah, apparently he's dead.
Nancy Thompson: Listen, Daddy, I've got a proposition for you. Listen very carefully, please.
Lt. Donald Thompson: Nancy.
Nancy Thompson: I'm going to go and get the guy who did it, and I want you to be there to arrest him when I bring him out. Okay?
Lt. Donald Thompson: Just tell me who did it, I'll go get him, baby.
Nancy Thompson: Fred Krueger did it, Daddy. And only I can get him. It's my nightmare he comes to.
Glen Lantz: What did you do to your arm?
Nancy Thompson: I burned it in English class
Nancy Thompson: I'm into survival.
Hallguard: [off screen] Hey, Nancy.
[flashing Freddy's finger knives]
Hallguard: No running in the hallway.
Marge Thompson: Nancy, you are going to get some sleep tonight if it kills me.
Nancy Thompson: Come on, Freddy. Can't you catch me?
Fred Krueger: I'm going to split you in two.
Fred Krueger: [approaching Nancy] I'll kill you slow!
Nancy Thompson: [Referring to the Balinese way of dreaming] But what if they meet a monster in their dreams, then what?
Glen Lantz: They turn their back on it. Take away its energy and it disappears.
Nancy Thompson: But what happens if they don't do that?
Glen Lantz: Well I guess those people don't wake up to tell what happens.
Nancy Thompson: [sighing] Great.
Quentin Smith: [Trying desperately to shake Nancy awake] Wake up, Nancy, wake up. Nancy, please. Please don't do this please. Nancy, come back. Please wake up. You promised.
Jesse Braun: Just don't fall asleep. If you die in your dreams, you die for real.
Nancy Holbrook: Hey, Quentin. Nightmare's over.
[Glen is trying to get to sleep on the couch alone, but the sounds of Tina and Rod having sex is keeping him up]
Glen Lantz: Morality sucks.
Quentin Smith: Look, if you really wanna talk, how come over the last couple of years, whenever I've invited you out, you've just never shown up?
Nancy Holbrook: I don't know if you've noticed, but I don't exactly fit in.
Quentin Smith: Ok, look. If we survive the next 24 hours, then I'll take you out on a real date.
Nancy Holbrook: And what if I say no?
Quentin Smith: Why don't you sleep on it?
Freddy Krueger: [to a young Nancy] If you can keep a secret, I'll take you to a special place.
Nancy Thompson: And now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep. And if I die before I wake, I pray the lord my soul to take.
Nancy Holbrook: [after Quentin storms out of his father's office] Quentin! Quentin, wait!
[Quentin punches the lockers]
Nancy Holbrook: Wait!
Quentin Smith: WHAT?
Nancy Holbrook: Slow down!
[Nancy grabs his arm]
Nancy Holbrook: Stop!
Quentin Smith: We got him killed. Our stories... Our lies.
Nancy Holbrook: What if we can make him stop?
Quentin Smith: What if we can't?
Marge Thompson: [to Nancy] Oh, I feel like a million bucks. They say you've bottomed out when you can't remember the night before.
Nancy Thompson: I know you're there Freddy.
Fred Krueger: You think you was gonna get away from me?
Nancy Thompson: I know you too well, Freddy.
Fred Krueger: Now you die.
Nancy Thompson: It's too late, Krueger. I know the secret now. This is just a dream. You're not alive. This whole thing is just a dream.
[she turns around and faces him]
Nancy Thompson: I want my mother and friends again.
Fred Krueger: You what?
Nancy Thompson: I take back every bit of energy I gave you. You're nothing. You're shit.
Nancy Thompson: [screaming in the boiler room] Come out and show yourself, you bastard!
[fixing her watch, and Krueger comes from behind]
Nancy Thompson: [screaming and jumping from the boiler room and landing in front of her house on a rose bush] Dammit! Where are you? Where are you Krueger?
[laughing uncomfortably]
Nancy Thompson: I know your here!
Fred Krueger: [whispering] Hey, Nancy.
[pops out from under the rose bush]
Nancy Thompson: [jumps towards and grabs him] I've got you now!
[wrestles with him as her alarm wakes her]
Nancy Thompson: [screaming and waking in her room alone]
Nancy Thompson: Oh.
[holds her face in despair]
Nancy Thompson: I'm crazy after all!
[Freddy pops out from the other side of her bed]
Cop #3: [after seeing the crime scene in Glen's room] What the HELL did that, Lieutenant?
Lt. Donald Thompson: I don't know. What's the coroner got to say?
Cop #3: He's been in the John pukin' since he saw it.
Glen Lantz: You believe this fog?
Nancy Thompson: Oh, I believe anything is possible.
[first lines]
Fred Krueger: Tina.
Tina's Mom: [On seeing Tina's torn nightgown] Tina, you either gotta cut your fingernails or ya gotta stop that kind of dreaming. One or the other.
Freddy Krueger: Remember me?
Nancy Thompson: [looking in the mirror] This is just a dream, this isn't real. This is just a dream, he isn't real. He isn't...
Nancy Thompson: [Freddy smashes through the mirror and grabs her]
Tina's Mom: You okay, Tina?
Tina Gray: Just a dream, Ma'.
Tina's Mom: Hm, some dream, judging from that!
[Tina looks down to see that there are four tears in her night-gown]
Rod Lane: I had a hard-on this morning when I woke up, Tina... Had your name written all over it.
Tina Gray: There's four letters in my name, Rod. How can there be enough room on your joint for four letters?
[laughter]
Rod Lane: Hey, up yours with a twirling lawnmower!
Nancy Thompson: Maybe I should just pick up that bottle and veg out with you, ignore everything going on around me by getting good and loaded.
[Marge slaps her]
Freddy Krueger: Nice try, Nancy. Now let me take a stab.
Tina Gray: Nancy, you dreamed about the same creep I did.
Glen Lantz: We have reason to believe there may be something very strange going on.
Lt. Donald Thompson: You got that right.
Nancy Thompson: What are you doing here?
Lt. Donald Thompson: There's an unsolved murder and I hate unsolved murders, especially ones that my daughter is mixed up in, what are *you* doing here?
Nancy Thompson: Look I just gotta see that he's okay.
Sgt. Garcia: I just checked on him ten minutes ago, he's sleeping like a baby, he's not going anywhere.
Tina Gray: All day long I've been seeing that guy's weird face and hearing those fingernails.
Nancy Thompson: Fingernails? That's amazing you saying that. That made me remember the dream I had last night.
Tina Gray: What'd you dream?
Nancy Thompson: I dreamed about a guy in a dirty red and green sweater.
[Glen looks up, curious]
Tina Gray: Well what about the fingernails?
Nancy Thompson: Well he scraped his fingernails along things. Actually they were more like fingerknives or something. Something he'd made himself. They made a horrible sound
[Imitating nails on a chalkboard]
Nancy Thompson: screeech.
Lt. Donald Thompson: What was she doing there?
Marge Thompson: Hello to you, too, Donald.
Lt. Donald Thompson: [sarcastically] Marge.
Dr. King: [At the sleep clinic, referring to the monitor's brainwave display] A nightmare now would be plus or minus five or six. She's about three.
Nancy Thompson: [Nancy begins twitching, as you hear Freddy's knives] Doctor, what's she doing now? Is she asleep or awake?
Dr. King: [the monitor's number quickly increases to 30]
[Shaking his head in disbelief]
Dr. King: Something's wrong. It never gets this high.
Marcus Yeon: [In video] I'm starting to dream with my eyes open. I can't tell what's real anymore. I haven't slept in three days. If I sleep, I dream. If I dream, I'm dead.
Nancy Thompson: [At the sleep clinic] I don't see why you can't just give me a pill to keep me from dreaming.
Dr. King: Everybody's got to dream, young girl. If you don't dream...
[Pointing to his head]
Dr. King: You go.
Rod Lane: [to Tina] Guys can have nightmares too ya know. Ya ain't got a corner on the market or somethin'.
Nancy Holbrook: [Cuts off Freddy's hand] It hurts now, doesn't it? That because you're in my world now, bitch!
Quentin Smith: [after injecting adrenaline] Whoa.
Nancy Holbrook: [Sees a book in their pile] What's this one doing here?
Quentin Smith: It's The Pied Piper of Hamelin. I saw it in one of my dreams. It's about a guy who's betrayed by a town and gets his revenge by taking away their children.
Nancy Holbrook: I keep dreaming about children, too. And then there's also a school.
Quentin Smith: Well, it's gotta mean something.
Nancy Holbrook: Yeah, but, I mean, what? We didn't go to school together until, like, 6th grade.
Resident: I'm gonna give you a little something for the pain. It'll put you right out.
Nancy Holbrook: No, mom, I don't want it. I don't want it, mom, I don't want it.
Dr. Gwen Holbrook: Shh, it's okay. It's okay.
Nancy Holbrook: No, mom, no. I don't want it. I don't want it. Don't let her do it.
Resident: This might sting a bit.
[Her hand becomes Freddy's glove]
Nancy Holbrook: [Shrieks] NO!
Jesse Braun: [sees picture on Dean's grave] You knew Dean that far back?
Nancy Holbrook: Jesus, that is me. But I don't know how I'm in that picture. I didn't meet Dean until high school.
Kris Fowles: Dean said something right before he died...
Jesse Braun: Oh, please don't...
Kris Fowles: He said, "You're not real." He kept repeating it over and over again. Do you have any idea what that means?
Jesse Braun: No. I don't. Think about. What would it mean? Dean was on a truck load of medication when...
Kris Fowles: Jesse, when it happened, it was like somebody was making him do it but there was nobody there. Jesse, you have to believe me!
Jesse Braun: Kris, it was late and you were scared! Your mind was just playing tricks on you that's all...
Nancy Holbrook: [approaches Kris] I believe you.
Kris Fowles: You do?
Nancy Holbrook: I've seen, I saw...
Jesse Braun: You didn't see anything. You weren't there. Kris was. She's already fucked up, so leave her alone!
Nancy Holbrook: [Kris and Jesse leave] You have no idea what I've seen...
[first lines]
Dean Russell: Can I have another? Hey. Can I have some more coffee, please?
Nancy Holbrook: Tell me what happened to Kris, Jesse.
Jesse Braun: Someone killed her in her sleep!
Nancy Holbrook: What? What are you talking about?
Jesse Braun: Don't pretend you don't know, because you do!
[pause]
Jesse Braun: You said it at the funeral. He's the one who's trying to kill us in our dreams!
Nancy Holbrook: All I keep hearing is the song!
Jesse Braun: What song?
Nancy Holbrook: [singing] One, two, Freddy's coming for you.
Jesse Braun: Freddy!
[pause]
Jesse Braun: That's his name and he's all in our heads, Nancy!
Alan Smith: [to Nancy] You listen to me. As far as everyone around here is concerned, Fred Kruger never existed.
Ambulance crew member: We don't need a stretcher in there. We need a mop!
Freddy Krueger: [to Nancy] You can't hurt me. This is my world. And you can't ever leave.
Nancy Thompson: [At the police station] You know Tina, she dreamed this was gonna happen.
Lt. Donald Thompson: What?
Nancy Thompson: She had a nightmare, that someone was trying to kill her.
[to her mother, sobbing]
Nancy Thompson: That's why we were there mom. She just didn't wanna sleep alone.
Nancy Thompson: Ok, here's what we're going to do.
Glen Lantz: It's dark in here.
Nancy Thompson: But it's not what you're thinking.
Marge Thompson: [to Nancy] He's dead, honey, because Mommy killed him.
[Reveals Freddy's glove]
Marge Thompson: I even took his knives. So it's okay now.
[Puts her hands on Nancy's knees]
Marge Thompson: You can sleep.
Tina Gray: [to Nancy] Maybe we're gonna have a big earthquake. They say things get really weird just before.
Dr. Gwen Holbrook: [Voice-over] There was a man at the preschool. his name was Fred Kruger. He was a gardener. He lived in the basement of the preschool. And you kids were his life. We didn't want to believe it at first. You were all so innocent. And you, Nancy. You were his favorite of all. And then we started to notice things.
Quentin Smith: So what did you do? Did you call the police?
Dr. Gwen Holbrook: He left town before we got a chance to confront him. He's gone. He can't hurt you anymore.
Marge Thompson: You want to know who Fred Krueger was? He was a filthy child murderer who killed at least 20 kids in the neighborhood. Kids we all knew.
Nancy Thompson: [taken aback] Oh, mom.
Marge Thompson: It drove us crazy when we didn't know who it was, but it was even worse after they caught him.
Nancy Thompson: Did they put him away?
Marge Thompson: Well, the lawyers got fat and the judge got famous, but somebody forgot to sign the search warrant in the right place and Krueger was free, just like that.
Nancy Thompson: What did you do, mother?
Nancy Thompson: [Before going to sleep to find Freddy] Okay Krueger, we play in your court.
Quentin Smith: Don't you ever get tired of working here every weekend?
Nancy Holbrook: Don't you ever get tired of coming here every weekend?
[Quentin smiles]
Nancy Thompson: [after seeing that the house is now fully secured] Mother! What's with the bars?
Marge Thompson: Security.
Nancy Thompson: Security? Security from what?
Marge Thompson: Not from what, from whom.
Nancy Thompson: [to her father] The killer's still loose, you know.
Lt. Donald Thompson: You're saying somebody else killed Tina? Who?
Nancy Thompson: I don't know who he is, but he's burned and he wears a weird hat and a red and green sweater, really dirty. And he uses these knives, like giant fingernails...
Lt. Donald Thompson: [Cuts her off and guides her into the car]
Lt. Donald Thompson: [to Marge] You better keep her home, for a few days, until she really gets over the shock of this.
Marge Thompson: I've got something better. I'm going to get her some help.
Quentin Smith: [after realizing he fell asleep when he was supposed to stay awake] Oh, shit.
Nancy Thompson: Glenn? Where are you? Are you there?
Fred Krueger: [whispers] I'm here.
[jumps out from behind a bush. Nancy screams and takes off running]
Nancy Thompson: What I learned in the dream clinic. That's what I'm trying to prove mother. Rod didn't kill Tina and he didn't hang himself. There's this guy. He's after us in our dreams.
Marge Thompson: But that's just not reality Nancy.
Nancy Thompson: [Pulling Krueger's hat out of a drawer] It's real momma, feel it.
Marge Thompson: Give me that damn thing!
Nancy Thompson: It even has his name written in it. Fred Krueger mom. Fred Krueger.
[Realizing her mother knows about him]
Nancy Thompson: Do you know who that is mother? Because if you do you better tell me cause he's after me now.
Rod Lane: I probably could have saved her if I'd have moved sooner. But I thought it was just another nightmare, like the one I had the night before. There was... there was this guy; he had knives for fingers.
Dr. Gwen Holbrook: [On the phone with another parent] Nancy's starting to remember.
Nancy Holbrook: [Quentin has found pictures] What are those? What are those pictures of?
Quentin Smith: They're all of you.
Quentin Smith: Fuck! What does he want from us? He's never gonna stop!
Quentin Smith: You can't just take that. You have no idea what it's gonna do to you.
Quentin Smith: You know what? That is kind of the least of my concerns right now, so, do you want some?
Nancy Holbrook: No.
[Quentin sticks himself in the leg]
Freddy Krueger: Little Nancy. All grown up.
Nancy Holbrook: [backing up] You're just a nightmare.
Freddy Krueger: [moving closer to Thompson] That's right. No one can ever prove I was ever here.
Nancy Holbrook: Who are you?
Freddy Krueger: You don't remember? You must. You're my number one. You're my... little Nancy.
[licks Thompson's cheek]
Nancy Holbrook: [moves face away] I set the alarm.
Freddy Krueger: Yes, you did. In your dream.
[sinister laugh; holds Thompson's hand in his clawed one; sniffs her hair]
Freddy Krueger: You smell different.
Nora Fowles: Who can remember being five years old?
Nancy Holbrook: [off screen] Krueger!
Freddy Krueger: [to Quentin] Your girlfriend's here. Be right back.
Quentin Smith: I know what happened to Freddy.
Nancy Holbrook: Why would you lie to me?
Dr. Gwen Holbrook: I didn't lie.
Nancy Holbrook: It's right here. Why would you lie to me? Stop lying to me! Quit lying to me!
Dr. Gwen Holbrook: I am not lying to you! I am not lying to you!
Nancy Holbrook: Stop lying to me!
Dr. Gwen Holbrook: I am not lying to you! I didn't want you to have to go through your life with this memory! I didn't want you to remember! I wanted you to forget!
Nancy Holbrook: Remember what? What happened at that preschool?
Nancy Holbrook: Can I get you guys anything else?
Quentin Smith: Uh, no. I think we're good. If we could just get the check.
Jesse Braun: Is that the only thing you wanna ask her, Quentin?
[Nancy leaves]
Quentin Smith: Asshole.
Kris Fowles: I'm having these dreams... and there's this man... and he's burned
Quentin Smith: [Places his cross necklace around her neck] You gotta believe in something, right?
[They kiss]
Quentin Smith: I'm gonna be here when you wake up. You're gonna make it.
Nancy Holbrook: He brought us here so that we would remember what he did to us.
Quentin Smith: [Slams his hands against the bed he's sitting on] *Fuck!*
Nancy Holbrook: [Sees his cross necklace] I didn't take you for the religious type.
Quentin Smith: [Hides it] Yeah, well, you gotta believe in something, you know?
Nancy Holbrook: Memories don't kill you.
Freddy Krueger: [while slamming Quentin's face into a pipe] You can't save her.
[Turns him around]
Freddy Krueger: Tag. You're it.
[Makes a slash across his chest]
Quentin Smith: [On the phone] Nancy, he got to him. Jesse's dead. He died in his sleep.
Jesse Braun: That's his mark isn't it? Freddy.
Kris Fowles: Wow. You look like you haven't...
Dean Russell: Like I haven't slept in three days?
Kris Fowles: Dean, what's going on?
Jesse Braun: What do you want from me?
Freddy Krueger: Hmm!
[Freddy aggressively approaches him]
Freddy Krueger: I don't know, Jesse!
[points knife at Braun]
Freddy Krueger: You think you can turn back time?
[pause]
Freddy Krueger: [gets in Braun's face]
Freddy Krueger: ANSWER ME!
Jesse Braun: NO!
Freddy Krueger: Do you think you can bring the dead back to life?
Jesse Braun: NO!
Freddy Krueger: No?
[pause]
Freddy Krueger: I didn't fucking think so!
Quentin Smith: Nancy, I can't let you go to sleep, you're not gonna wake up.
Nancy Holbrook: I know you won't let that happen.
Alan Smith: [Throws the lit gas tank through the window] This is for my son!
Quentin Smith: I don't know what's real anymore.
