A family's moral codes are tested when Ray Tierney investigates a case that reveals an incendiary police corruption scandal involving his own brother-in-law. For Ray, the truth is revelatory, a Pandora's Box that threatens to upend not only the Tierney legacy but the entire NYPD.

Ray Tierney: Have a few nips this evening, pop?
Francis Tierney Sr: I had a glass of scotch, officer.
Ray Tierney: Just one, huh?
Francis Tierney Sr: I used that same glass, yeah.
Jimmy Egan: I will not apologize for doing what I do!
Ray Tierney: [seeing his father enter his houseboat] Hey.
Francis Tierney Sr: Hey.
Ray Tierney: Come on in.
Francis Tierney Sr: [noticing Ray doing some repair work] What happened? My carpet! What happened to the carpet?
Ray Tierney: You're supposed to fix the leaks before you put the carpet down, Pop. You know that.
Francis Tierney Sr: Oh... Boats leak, Raymond. It's the nature of things.
Ray Tierney: [as Jimmy is about to commit suicide] Don't do it! No Jimmy! Don't fuckin' do it!

Francis Tierney Sr: Now, the men that were killed were under your brother's command. You know this neighborhood up and down, yes?
Ray Tierney: Yeah. I worked those streets pop. So what?
Francis Tierney Sr: You want me to spell it out for you, Raymond? Find who killed our guys.
[from trailer]
Francis Tierney Sr: My kids are the most important thing in the world.
Sandy: Becoming a cop, the pledge we took to uphold something honest. We let it all rot from under us. I was a good man once.
Ray Tierney: [about the killer] Whoever he was, he was no amateur.

Ray Tierney: When we were kids, all we ever talked about was being cops.
[from trailer]
Ray Tierney: I have not shared this around. I talked to this broad, Lisette. She says it was a cop.
Carlos Bragon: I'm writing a story. Hero detective captures cop killer.
[from trailer]
Carlos Bragon: Be smart. They were protecting their own, and they were burying the truth.
Ray Tierney: Don't talk to me about the truth. You got no idea what it takes to do what we do.
[from trailer]
Jimmy Egan: If my guys were doing something, I would know about it, trust me.
[from trailer]
Jimmy Egan: I love you, Ray.
Jimmy Egan: Where's my money?
Sandy: We sold our shields off to the highest bidder.
Jimmy Egan: You breathe a word of this, and I come back, I'll slit your throat, fuck your wife, and kill your kid. Look at me! You tip angel off, and I'll make it really worse!
[from trailer]
Francis Tierney Sr: Your brother is in a bad hour here and the only way through this is you.
[from trailer]
Ray Tierney: How I figure this went down: When our guys go in, the whole thing touches off. You got a lot of firing, very close quarters, and it's that shooter. Whoever he was, he was no amateur.
[from trailer]
Ray Tierney: I've done your kind of loyalty, pop, and it's cost me too much.
Francis Tierney Sr: What did it cost you, Ray?
Ray Tierney: It cost me everything!
Jimmy Egan: [His last lines] Tell her I love her.
Francis Tierney Sr: [to Ray] Don't turn your back on me, Raymond! You're my kid; you're my blood! You might aswell be a fuckin' Martian!
