A motorcycle stunt rider turns to robbing banks as a way to provide for his lover and their newborn child, a decision that puts him on a collision course with an ambitious rookie cop navigating a department ruled by a corrupt detective.

Robin: If you ride like lightning, you're going to crash like thunder.
Robin: you are standing right where your Dad used to stand and we used to talk. He was a good guy, your Dad.
[Jason picks up some sunglasses]
Robin: Oh wow. Yeah, those glasses. I haven't seen them in a long time, they're his, those goofy glasses.
Jason: These were his?
Robin: Yeah. You keep those. He would have wanted you to have them.
Jason: Was he good at anything?
Robin: Yeah. He was the best motorcycle rider I've ever seen in my life. Best.
Jason: Yeah?
Robin: Best. Never seen another one like him. Best.
Jason: You guys good friends?
Robin: Yeah I think we were.
Jason: You still got his bike?
Robin: [shakes his head] No, his bike's gone. Police took it. I think they cut it up. They're angry with him, I know that. They're real mad with him.
AJ: Dad, I fucked up, and I know you don't have time to deal with this stuff right now...
Avery: Not him, OK?
AJ: What?
Avery: I want you to leave him alone, alright? OK?
AJ: Why?
Avery: [Avery slams AJ against the wall] Wipe that fuckin' smirk of your face! You hear me? I want you to leave that fuckin' kid alone, alright? Look at me. Look at me! You wanted to come live with me right? You think this is easy for me? During this time, huh? I'm trying to make this work. I'm doing it for you. You can have anything you want, but I don't want you to touch that kid. You leave him alone. You under-fucking-stand me? Say yes!
AJ: [crying] Yes.
Avery: Look at me, and say yes!
AJ: Yes!
Luke: He's my son and I should be around him. I wasn't around my Dad and look at the fuckin' way I turned out.
Luke: You don't love me you don't like me I fuckin' get it. I'm a piece of shit, OK? I'm still his father, I can give him stuff. I got this for him, just give it to him. Tell him it's from me.
Luke: I'm not asking for an advance, I'm quitting.
Jack: You can't quit.
Luke: I just did.
Robin: [Robin sees Jason holding Luke's old glasses] Why don't you put the glasses on?
Jason: [shyly] Nah...
Robin: For sure! He would have said they were left there for you. No doubt. Put them on if you want. Go on. Put em' on.
Jason: Yeah?
Robin: C'mon, I'll tell you.
[Jason puts them on and Robin smiles]
Robin: Yeah. Yeah!
Jason: [smiling] Yeah?
Robin: Yeah! You're callin' him back!
Romina: You fucked up my son's life; therefore, you fucked up my life.
[last lines]
Jason: How much do you want for it?
Mr. Anthony: I was thinking five.
Mr. Anthony: [Jason climbs onto the bike] Have you ever ridden one of these things before?
[Jason rides away silently. Fade to black]
Luke: Not since Hall and Oates has there been such a team.
Robin: [Passes Jason a newspaper clipping and points to a photo] That guy's your Dad. That's him there.
[Robin points to another photo]
Robin: And that's the pig there, the one that pegged him.
Jason: What happened to him?
Robin: Who, the cop? Forget about him man. Don't start there, I'll show you good things. I'll show you good things...
Avery: When I was a kid I used to look at my dad dressed in judge's robes and I used to think that my father was a superhero. And I don't think I was far off. He had that quality that judges have, where they have tremendous compassion, but they're also ferocious at the same time. He wasn't afraid of making enemies. I think that's probably why he had so many friends.
Luke: Who's that guy?
Malena: He's yours.
Bill Killcullen: I'll make you an assistant DA. I'll never shake your fucking hand! You're too smart for your own good.
Avery: [Avery just received his medal and is giving a speech] When I was in law school, we used to always talk about justice. We'd have discussions about justice. But that's just what they were, discussions . I joined the police force because I wanted to work alongside the brave men and women who know that some problems can't be solved by talking. And no one wants to be in the situation that I found myself in a couple of weeks ago. I certainly wished it turned out differently. I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I have a wish that sometimes it wasn't me who was called upon that house that day. But that's the job. And I can't think of another line of work I'd rather be in. Thank you.
Robin: Got a kid? You wanna provide for that kid? You want to edge out your competition? You gotta do that using your skill set. And your skill set? Very unique.
Luke: He can get his own girl and his own kid, that's every man's right.
Robin: You're callin' him back!
Avery: [Avery puts the money the cops stole from Romina's house on Chief Weirzbowski's table] I should have brought this to you sooner, I apologize. This is recovered from a house during a search...
Chief Weirzbowski: [Chief puts his hand up] No no no no. Wait a minute Cross.
Avery: That's just the small fraction of what's goin' on...
Chief Weirzbowski: Wait a minute Cross. Don't say another word.
Avery: What do you mean?
Chief Weirzbowski: No no no, don't say another word.
[the chief leans forward in his chair and shakes his head]
Chief Weirzbowski: What'd you expect me to do with this?
Avery: You're joking right?
Chief Weirzbowski: This is shit!
Avery: Chief!
Chief Weirzbowski: This aint' my problem, alright? This is your problem.
Avery: This is our problem of the fucking police department and I'm bringing it to your attention, because that's what I should fucking do!
Chief Weirzbowski: Oh yeah, is that right?
Avery: Yeah!
Chief Weirzbowski: Is that what you should do? Rat out other fuckin' cops! This is un-fuckin-believable, alright?
[the Chief picks up the money with a tissue and throws it at Avery]
Chief Weirzbowski: Get this shit outta here!
Luke: I'm still his father, I can give him stuff.
Luke: Everybody get down on the fuckin' floor!
Robin: I'm not gonna let you bring us both down.
Romina: [Talking to Luke] You're never going to see him again.
