Andrew Walter "Andy" Reid is a professional American football coach who is the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). Reid was previously the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, a post he held from 1999 to 2012. From 2001 to 2012, he was also the Eagles' executive vice president of football operations, effectively making him the team's general manager. He led the Eagles to five NFC championship games, including four consecutive appearances from 2001-2004, and to Super Bowl XXXIX in 2004 where Philadelphia lost to the New England Patriots 24-21 in a close match up. On December 30, 2012, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie fired Reid. On January 4, 2013, Reid reached an agreement to become the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.
