Christopher "Chris" Sarandon, Jr. is an American actor and voice actor who is best known for playing Prince Humperdinck in the film The Princess Bride, the vampire Jerry Dandrige in Fright Night and Detective Mike Norris in the first entry of the Child's Play series, and for providing the voice of Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Captain Jack from James and the Giant Peach. Unfortunately, when you're an actor you have to act. It's not like you can sit in your living room, your bedroom, your study or whatever and act with yourself. It requires having somebody to respond to.
Being on stage is a seductive lifestyle. My advice to aspiring actors is think twice. People sometimes go into acting for the wrong reasons - as a shortcut to fame and fortune. If these goals are not attained, they feel a bitter disappointment.
Acting should be an end in itself.
As an actor, we are, in a way, a mirror of other people.
