Peter John "Pete" Visclosky is the U.S. Representative for Indiana's 1st congressional district, serving since 1985. He is a member of the Democratic Party and the Dean of the Indiana congressional delegation. The District lies in Northwest Indiana. I've dedicated my life to public service, and I feel it's still a noble profession. However, I also understand it's a contact sport.
I believe that we need to set conditions to close the detention facility at Guantanamo. This includes retaining the option to transfer detainees from this facility elsewhere... It is in the U.S.'s national security interest to do so.
