I am proud to be a role model for my viewers. I am finding out that helping victims is as or more rewarding the all the awards I win.
Think of it: television producers joining with newspapers to tell stories. It's journalism of the future. Advertising will follow the crowd - the 'crowd' being viewers and readers, of course, which could bring revenue back into journalism.
Life goes on, and I'm moving on to the next thing, but I hope the soaps that are still running will thrive. They have millions of loyal viewers.
If we have no respect for our viewers, then how can we have any respect for ourselves and what we do?
Today, especially, when there are so many stations for viewers to choose from, if they want news, they always come to CNN and that's where I wanted to be.
